Well it is that time of year when the gardens are really taking off. Last weekend was the opening of our county’s Farmer’s Market, there is not a lot of variety yet… but there is LOTS OF YELLOW SQUASH!
Olivia and Samantha have been reaping their harvest.
So they ventured out to the market to turn their “greens” (and yellows and browns) into some paper green.
There they were, two teen-aged girls hoping someone would take them up on their free lemonade and buy some produce.
Or maybe some fresh eggs.
Or maybe buy some homemade soap or organic herbs.
There wasn’t much being bought at the market today, maybe folks are just waiting for more items to be plentiful?
I’m sure Saturday will be a better day to sell.
I suggested they sing some old time gospel songs in harmony…that will draw the folks to their table!
I am so proud of Olivia and Samantha
using their time wisely and being productive.
Not only are they learning a lot of practical skills in the garden,
but they are learning a lot of business skills as they seek to generate some income from all their labor.
These girls will never be in need because they have what it takes to make things happen.
She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

Great job! If I’d been there, I’d have purchased every single bar of soap AND every pepper! (They’re $1.09 EACH right now!)
Blessings-

DOUBLE YOUR SOAP PRICE, OLIVIA!!! =D
You’re practically giving it away!
Christina says:
Wow! Their garden is really far along! I guess you do live a lot farther south than I do.
Our corn is probably not even knee high and our summer squash is only an inch or two.
