Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

Encouraging Young Entrepreneurs – Beauty Business

Emma and I just signed on to be beauty consultants for Mary Kay. The truth is, Emma did, but because she is too young (16) according to their rules, we are doing it together (she uses my name and numbers). She has paid for her starter kit from her own money and will be doing all the work, I just oversee.

Learning to do sales, inventory, taxes, paper work, people skills, etc… is great experience for her! And if she likes doing this and makes money at it, she can get her business started pretty young and be established with a customer base and business skills by the time she is 18 or so. This may turn out to be something she can make money from home after she is married, which will be a blessing to her husband and children (God willing). And if she doesn’t like it, it will be good experience for her. We have required a one year commitment from her.

So in the spirit of Encouraging Young Entrepreneurs here is my little plug for Emma, I am asking all of you to consider buying something from her. She is willing to gift wrap for FREE and ship it to your recipient for FREE (in the USA only). What a great way to send a special gift to someone that lives out of town! She even carries perfume and the best skin care products…even for men!

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
