In our family we always have some kind of money making endeavor going on, and rarely is it a one person show. We all help each other get our projects off the ground.
Now that fall is arriving the harvest and Christmas festivals will begin. We usually set up at a few each year to sell our handmade goods…and we are always looking for new ideas. The lessons we have learned over the years doing this is an education you can not buy! The children have really learned the value of their time and what it takes to create an item people will actually buy.

My dear, dear friend Kelly and her children are working together to make these sweet bags and t-shirts to sell at the festivals this fall/winter. I love how she is using her children’s special talents to work on something together.
Her 10-year-old son drew the picture and her two oldest girls made the bags. Aren’t they adorable?! Kelly will add her baby bath products to the bag. I just love it!
Is there anything you could be creating together with your children? What are they naturally good at?

Brandie is my “Packaging Department” when I make bows for a nearby gymnastics/cheerleading gym. She’s only 6, but loves her important job!

My girls sat and made soap balls with me for an hour this morning. It’s so wonderful having them work along side me!

I just love this! What a great way to work together!
Do you all do the festival over in Springville? The name of it is slipping my mind for the moment, but I used to love going to that as a child!

Kathy,
I would love to make money from home. I really hate going off to work and leaving the kids. Even if they are with family I just really really don’t want to. I had to start working back in March and am just miserable! I work from 8-4:30 Mon-Friday. My job isn’t hard I just hate being away from home and my family!!
I have to figure out something. In my spare time I have been trying to quilt but I don’t have a lot of spare time.
Any suggestions for a mom of 5 young kids?
I have this dream of how I want things to be and this is SO not it. DH says well, I don’t want you to have to work but we have a big family and you have to work. I said well, I just feel like because we do have a big family is why I should be home.
I’m just praying that God will help us with this…..soon.
Just had to let it out.
Hugs and Many Blessings to your family. I admire your family for what you all are doing.

I’ve come here from Kelly’s website. (Absolutely love the design her son came up with, sooo sweet!)
I am so excited!
We have a quasi-Charlotte Mason approach to homeschooling, so I’m always looking for practical activities for the children. You website looks like it’ll be a great resource for a super-busy mom of 5! I’ll be checking back frequently for ideas!
