Fire Truck Groom’s Cake and Wedding Cakes

This past weekend I had 3 cakes to do, 2 bridal cakes and a groom’s cake.

This is another ‘naked cake’ which is all the rage these days!

This was a vanilla cake with buttercream icing serving 300.

This was a chocolate and vanilla brides cake with buttercream icing decorated with in a rustic theme of laced burlap.

The groom who is a fireman with my husband, requested a fire truck cake.

Easter 2015 - Because My Family is Worth It

This year between being so slammed with bakery orders and the new addition to the family it was hard to keep our usual Resurrection Day/weekend routine, so we just learn to be flexible and do what we can.

I love, absolutely love tablescapes.

Our table isn’t always pretty, but on special occasions I like to go the extra mile. Some people may say it’s not worth the extra work but I beg a difference.

You may have noticed I haven’t been blogging much, or maybe you haven’t.

Our life has gotten so busy, so industrious that the blog is waaaay down on my list of priorities. It’s not because I don’t have anything I want to blog about, actually, I keep saying, “I’m going to write a post about ‘that’ (insert passionate topic), but at the end of the day when I sit down to type, I am so exhausted my brain can not form a sentence.

How to Make an Alabama Football Elephant Cake

Its fall and we live in Alabama. Everyone here eats, breaths and lives football, but not us).

This week I had an order for an Alabama football cake and some specialty cookies. This one feeds about 40-50.

Pans:

Dirty iced with buttercream.

Covered with 2 pieces of fondant.

I used foam poster board for the ears and covered them with fondant. They wedged nicely into the two rounds.
