Old Shirts into a New Quilt

I used a bunch of old flannel shirts that I’ve been saving up and made this quilt. It may not be the prettiest, but I use it between the other quilts on our bed and it sure is warm! This would be great for a boy’s room too!

Rag quilts work up so quickly and are the easiest type of quilt to make! You can see my tutorial HERE, it is for a baby size, but all you need to do is make the squares larger and make more squares!

I love this idea. A couple of yrs ago we unfortunately are without my Papa and my Nana gave me a lot of his flannel shirts I have had several ideas for what to do with them and cutting them just did not seem like an option. However; this is precious and I was wondering how many shirts did you use in or should I use to make a decent size throw? Thank you for any suggestions I think I may make this for my Nana. :-)

Oh my, I can’t remember how many, you’ll have to estimate. You can also fill in with flannel from a bolt or perhaps even a sheet.

We’d love it if you’d send a picture when you finish!

      I wish I had my Grandpa’s shirts.
