I didn’t do as good as I had planned this week when it came to the eating part of my fitness plan. We ended up with sore throats and colds here which makes it hard to eat anything raw. When you don’t feel good you just gotta have something warm and comforting. But I did stick to my cardio plan pretty good.
I do try drink juice several times a week. Drinking fresh juice and exercise really boots my energy level!
I recorded this little video clip to show how I make my juice.
The benefits of juicing:
- The juice requires little digestion if you remove the pulp which means that it gets in your system fast!
- When you juice you are usually taking in more fruit and/or vegetables than you normally would.
- Juicing helps to detoxify your liver and kidneys.
These are my goals, in red are the ones I actually met:
Exercise:
- Gym 4 days a week (40-45 minutes cardio, 15 minutes weight resistance) Did 3 days
- Outside walk 2 days a week, non-gym days (45-60 minute walk)
- Pool 1 time a week (at least 10 laps)
- Pilates 2 times a week
Nutrition (nutrition is 70% of the battle):
- Avoid sugar, white flour and white rice five days a week …
- Eat mainly fruits and vegetables, cooked, raw and juiced 4 days a week.
- 100 ounces of water a day, every day! About half of this. :/
- 5000 iu Vitamin D each day
Other:
- Pray for strength, wisdom and focus
- Watch or read something related to good nutrition at least twice a week – motivation - Watched Ingredients on Netflix.
- Sit in the sun for 10-15 minutes a day when possible. Twice this week.
- Go to bed by 10:00 every night

I hope you are feeling better soon. Illness tends to throw me off, too. I might look into juicing—I’m really bad about getting all the veg and fruit I need. Thank you for sharing, you’re doing great!

The juicing video is great!!

Great video! I love how the thing that follows the juicing part is a picture of your CAKE decorating video!
Briana says:
You did really well on the juicing this week! I still need to add some to my day but I did up my raw veggies and lower the cooked today. I don’t like cleaning the juicer!
Can you share some of your favorite juices one week?
Dawn @ Guiding Light says:
What a great post! And the video…too cool! Thank you for sharing.

Kathy,
I don’t like to make it a habit to “advertise” but the vitamin/mineral supplement I am on is really wonderful and has done some fantastic things for me, my family and my friends. It’s mangosteen juice (lots of antioxidants and antiinflammatory properties) with your daily vitamins and minerals in a liquid form (so it is absorbable unlike the pills which often don’t dissolve well and end up excreted). This may or may not be something you are interested in, but if you are wanting a great health boost, think about looking into it. I’m happy to answer any questions. Just email me if you like.
Results here from people I know include - lowering thyroid medicine, lowering blood sugar (A1C back to normal), lowering cholesterol back into the normal range, GI issues improving or resolving and my personal plantar fasciitis is gone after 90 days!
It’s not a cure-all but it has done a lot of good for a lot of people.
You are a blessing to me and I want to share this with you.
Love and blessings in Christ from one sister to another,
Jen

If you have Netflix streaming, make sure you take the time to watch Forks over Knives, it has certainly changed the way we eat at our house, and we are reaping the benefits!
Kathy says:
I linked to that a few weeks ago. Great movie!
