A Vita Mix is expensive but worth it!
It does everything from making soup, to making ice cream, to grinding wheat!
I bought mine 11 years ago and LOVE IT!
Right now I am using it mostly for our morning smoothies. I pour in a little almond milk, frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, a frozen banana, walnuts and flax seed. Blend it for a minute or so- and it’s better than ice scream… and talk about a breakfast for champions!!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Kitchen Aid mixer!!!
If you are going to be serious about cake decorating, or any other kitchen work it is worth every penny to invest in a Kitchen Aid mixer. When I first started decorating cakes I cannot tell you how many hand mixers I burned up, and it always seemed to happen when I was in a hurry to finish up a cake for a special occasion!
Not only is it great for making icing, it is almost a must for making high ratio icing. It is a huge help to leave the mixer doing it’s job while you can step across the room to do something else, it’s almost like having an extra set of hands in the kitchen! With the right attachments it is great for kneading dough, grating cheese, carrots and cabbage!

Products we love:
Wilton’s starter kit has all the tools to get you started!
Whether you want to learn to decorate cakes just for your family or as a home business this skill is fun and profitable. Using the right icing, a few basic decorating tools, and some practice you will surely delight your family and friends with wonderful cakes.
Check out our Cake Decorating DVD!There is no easy time to raise children ( or be married, or grow up, etc…). Every era has it’s struggles; there in nothing new under the sun.
I’ve been on a big Waltons (yes, the old TV series) kick lately. I have all the seasons lined up in our Netflix box; each disc has 3 episodes on it. I started watching these because I thought I’d enjoy watching family life during a simpler time, but the truth is, they had the same struggles we do. Almost every episode I laugh because I have heard the same words uttered in MY house!
The green writing on this cake was done with Wilton’s Food Writer. This is the first time I have used these and I LOVE THEM! It is much easier to write with these than it is to pipe with icing. I can’t wait to play around with them some more! I can see where these would be wondeful for cakes that have a lot of detail; and just think of how much easier Christmas cookies would be to decorate?
I use my cast iron skillet for just about everything from the stove top to the oven!
My cast iron dutch oven is a favorite. I love that it has a handle to hang in a tripod over an open fire.
