Come learn how to build a storage building!
 
 

Location:

Alabaster, Alabama
 

 

November 10-14, 2008   

8 am - 4pm

 

Camp days may need to be adjusted if there is bad weather.

 Registration Deadline is October 27, 2008.

 

Class size is limited.

Each student will:

Receive a binder of handouts, building drawings and carpenter pencil

Learn carpentry terms

Visit Lumber a Yard

Learn the difference in types of wood and nails/screws

Learn how to measure and cut wood

Learn how to use tools correctly

Read drawings/plans

Work as a crew to build the building

Lunch and drinks will be provided.

 

Requirements:

Boys ages 10 and up

Fathers are more than welcome to attend with their sons for free.

Have a willingness to learn and work.

Obey safety instructions and follow directions.

Parents must sign a consent form.

Though safety ALWAYS comes first, this is a class you take at your own risk.

Any boys that do not comply with the above requirements will be dismissed from the camp without a refund.

 

Each student will need:

Safety glasses

Ear Plugs

Close toed shoes (work boots would be best, but not required)

Be familiar with the vocabulary words that will be mailed to them after registering.

*optional, but strongly encouraged:

*Tape measure (it would be beneficial if they know how to read a tape measure before coming to camp)

*Hammer

*Tool belt with nail pouch

*Cap/Hat to keep sun out of eyes

*Sunscreen or long-sleeved shirt


 

Carpentry Camp Fee is $120 per Student. Dads of students are free.

Registration deposit of $50 must be received by deadline and is nonrefundable. Make checks payable to Jeff Brodock.

Balance of Camp Fee is due on the morning of the first day of camp.

Student’s names will be put on a waiting list if class is full.
