Your Name, a Name of Character

December 31, 2008

I got this idea from my friend Kelly. WHAT A GREAT IDEA! I think we'll do this this evening, what a great way to bring in the new year.

 Kelly writes:

One year, we made an acronym from our last name, "Crawford". Each letter stood for a character trait that we wanted to emulate. My husband went over them thoroughly with the children, and our reminder was, "Are you a CRAWFORD?" Of course the traits came to mind. C stood for "Christ-like", R stood for "Responsible, and so forth. This was a really good way for us to put abstract concepts into tangible form.

So I am proposing a challenge; can you and your family create an acronym using your last name and character traits? If you need a little inspiration,  HERE is my favorite resource for character building information. If you choose to do this let all of us know your results, it may encourage someone else. :o )

Check in tomorrow to see what we come up with.

My girls and I are trying to get this going..but having trouble coming up with an N. The girls plan on doing their whole name, and Vannan is quite overwhelmed with all of her N’s! So far we came up with NOW and Nice. Other letters are Respectful, Obedient, Dilligent, Examples.

We had a lot of fun with it. I hope it carries through the year!
