Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

What will you do to make a special memory today?

It’s the Saturday before Christmas…I stayed up waaaaaay too late working on a special project. :) Now I’m up early because the project is still on my mind. :)

So I am enjoying some caramel coffee this morning and I’m going to make *Jeff* some biscuits and gravy! It’s 6:30 and he is already out in his shop working on another special project.

Soon I’ll be off to the gym with the girls and then home to spend the afternoon baking cookies with them. I’m hoping to video a little of our time together and share a few recipes…Lord willing.

May today bring LOTS of happy memories at home and the tying of heart strings! ♥ What will you do to make a special memory today?

A wise woman builds her home,

but the foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

Proverbs 14:1

Women, keep your hands (and your heart) at home, make it your purpose to bring life, love and beauty to your family. Make home some place they want to be, make home a place he looks forward to at the end of the day, make the kids miss home when they are gone. Fill it pleasant aromas (hint…crock pot :) ), pleasant music (pandora.com), and pleasant conversation (no nagging). Don’t try to make everyone pleasant, just focus on YOU being pleasant. Count your blessings.

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17

Yesterday Brandie and I made over 16′ of peppermint garland out of felt and beads. She’s already talking about making it with her children and having me help! lol I love it!

Today I am helping make memories for my cousin and her family. Her oldest daughter (I guess that makes her my 2nd cousin?) is graduating from nursing school as an RN. I’m heading up to photograph the ceremony for her and take some family pics.

Then it”s back home to help with more garland! Dinner is homemade soup. It’s going to be a great Saturday!
