What I am Most Thankful For…
November 26, 2009
I can’t even choose just ONE thing, there are so many things! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days, it causes you to purposefully be thankful, rather than think on the things that bring us down.
Yesterday Emma and I were out and about all day. There just seemed to be an excitement in the air and the majority of people that we ran into were friendly, with extra greetings and smiles (I love living in the south!), which in-turn caused me to smile and be more friendly.
Today we are getting ready for our outdoor feast with our friends tomorrow (Friday). Olivia is still at Miss S’s home, where they are celebrating their first Thanksgiving without their wife and mother. Olivia and Miss S are preparing a huge feast with lots of extra special touches. After their festivities ‘Liv will come home.

Tomorrow we have invited some friends to feast with us outdoors (another perk to living in the South), even though it will be a bit chilly. We will have few of our men in character and share some of the pilgrim’s quotes. We will also take time to sing and give praises to God for His goodness.
Things I am most thankful for (and they are all by God’s grace):
A year of no serious health problems for our whole family.
Jeff’s work load has been good this year. 4 years self-employed…taking it one day at a time!
Olivia and Miss S seem to be bonding well.
Our huge tree came down with no damage to our home or family, for a minimal cost.
The Ball went well.
Teaching Good Things has grown, adding new e-books and a new video. We were able to host classes again this year. God has used several of our items/courses to minister to families all over the country and even in other countries. I recently received an email of how a teacher in a school was using our Encouraging Eager Hands course in her school in Indonesia. God has blessed me with many new friends via the internet! God is good!
But what I am most thankful for is how God has used the most painful things in my life to draw me closer to Him. He has used these things to teach me Who He is…and who I am not! He has taught me (and still teaching me) to depend on Him and Him alone! The closer you get to God, the more peace and joy you have.
