Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

Week in Review – 9/23/12 Zoo, County Fair, Bonfires and more…

The last few weeks are kind of a blur, we’ve been so busy.

We took the kids to the zoo

for their first time.

It was a great day for the big kids too!

We took them to the County Fair for their first time.

We also entered a lot of things we made.

And things we grew.

Visits from old friends who brought this sweet gift for the kids!

I canned some Sweet Pepper Relish.

Time around bonfires enjoying simple times.

Getting to know new friends better.

Walks to the lake.

I’ve watched my daughter fall deeper in love.

I’ve watched another daughter share her passion for life and the unborn with hundreds at the county fair all week.

I attended one of Olivia’s one day cooking classes.

It’s a cool thing when you can learn new things from your children!

Celebrated a special birthday with some of our closest friends.

The one in the middle turned 40!

So yeah… all of that on top of school work and getting things lined up for our adoptions! Never a dull moment!

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
