The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD;
he turns it wherever he will.
Proverbs 21:1
This has been a roller coaster ride of a week. There are so many details I wish I could share publicly, but out of respect for the little ones in my house I won’t.
Thursday we finally had our court date concerning the custody of the 3 children staying with us.
We were braced for a hard, stoic judge and we were the last ones called in. We stood before the judge, answered all the questions asked by both lawyers and judge. Due to some circumstances we were prepared for our case to be continued for another 60-90 days.
The short of the long story; the judge granted us full custody of the children. We were blown away at God’s workings in this, it is all nothing short of amazing! Oh, the details that seemed impossible that have been worked out.
When the judge closed our file, he looked at both of us and with all sincerity he thanked us, “Thank you for standing in the gap for these children, especially since you are not family. So few people are willing to do this (keep them out of foster care and care for them as their own).” He continued, “I know you must feel that the Lord has led you to this.” I commented that they are such good kids. He replied, “They deserve a chance.”
We are overwhelmed with gratitude!
The children are excited that this is home. We feel like we can now officially move forward and make plans for the future!!!
We spent Friday with some of our best friends just hanging out.
Jeff fixed our van!!! YAY!!!
