Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

Week in Review- 1/19/13: SNOW and Lovebirds!

Nothing tops the excitement of our snowfall this week. Living in the south means we *might* get 1 snow fall a year.  I know my northern family will laugh at these, but this is a lot of snow for us, so don’t mock us in our winter wonderland. ;)

It was especially fun this year because of the kids being here!

I can’t believe God is allowing me to raise this precious, servant hearted, take charge girl!

She is a first born all the way!

And this boy!

He wants so bad to be like his dad.

The boy who has always hungered for a daddy,

now has one with man who did not conceive him but  loves him just as much!

And then there is this girl! Oh, My!

She is the cutest thing and she keeps all of us hopping. Is it always the baby of the family that has the most ‘spunk/personality/attitude’? Some days I wonder if we’ll last another 15-20 years. Perhaps God brought us Peach to keep us young? Maybe it was us that needed rescuing and not her?

Here Dad was making snowballs for an impending war with the big kid (Josh).

Peach snatched a snowball and let him have it!

Bless her heart. She jumped into a mud puddle and

she had about all the cold and wet that she could stand.

And then there is the constant excitement of the love birds!

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
