Titus 2 Blog Party/Intro

March 2, 2009

Michelle at
She Looketh Well is throwing a Titus 2 Blog Party this week! The idea is to introduce ladies to other blogs designed to encourage and strengthen the Titus 2 woman.

Be sure to go over and browse the list of blogs!

She also asked us to write an introduction of our blog for the new ladies coming to visit.

I started blogging a few years ago over on my homemaking blog, Mission Field of the Home, which has had a few different names. I chose Mission Field of the Home, because I strongly  feel that families  do not realize the importance of the work, physical and spiritual work, that takes place at HOME. I will blog more about this later this week.

So, I had that blog, but then we also started our business Teaching Good Things and it’s website, I have sense then moved most of my blogging over to this blog, although I cannot ‘let go’ of the other one…confusing? ;o) I also have a quilting blog and a cake blog, although those don’t get updated very often.

I am quickly becoming that "older woman" in Titus 2, although I don’t feel like the older woman. I think many of us have become older women because of our returning to the old paths, returning to our God given roles as wives and mothers. So many women my age feel inadequate in caring for their home and family, they lack basic skills that were once passed down from one generation to another. Not only were those skills passed down, but relationships were enriched through teaching/learning those skills! This is where my passion comes in.

So THIS is why I blog, to share and encourage the skills and relationships we need to advance the Kingdom! I am not ashamed of my graying hair, I am not afraid of old age, I gladly take my position and desire to be that older woman, for God’s glory and by His garce alone.

Hi there, I am so glad you are taking part in the Titus 2 Blog Party! I can’t wait to check out your site. Thanks for coming!

I too am quickly becoming that older woman, but I love it! I do have so much to learn though as I was not raised in a godly home, but God is making up for lost time, that is for sure!

Hi, I am an “older woman” joining in today too. I am 58. I have three daughters and 11 grandchildren. I also have 3 in heaven. Much has been learned by our trials and we thank God for His Faithfulness.
My middle daughter wrote a book about her journey as she has lost 3 of her 9 children. It is called, “In Faithfulness He Afflicted Me”. On my site you can find her blog which is called Dancing Barefoot,…on weathered ground.
I had already posted a poem/writing today called,…”I Am Held”. I hope it will be a blessing today.

Oh, such fun! Folks seem to think of me as an OLD woman, but I am only 75, almost 76, so I am just an OLDER woman. Still enjoy learning from the young or old. My grandmother’s maiden name was Bailey, so those folks probably are my cousins. I can wish anyway. Love all the stuff you are doing, teaching everyone, everything you know. Absolutely terrific!.
