The last few days…
November 29, 2008
The last few days have been bitter-sweet.

Emma and Joseph
We spent Thanksgiving Day with our friends the Whites. They have the gift of hospitality, not because of their lovely home or wonderful food, but because they make you feel so welcome and RELAXED!
) This Thanksgiving was their first Thanksgiving without their Dads, both have passed away. This was our first Thanksgiving without our son sitting at the table. I wonder if he missed us as much as we missed him?
Last Thanksgiving Robin was heading home from Liberia with this precious gift from God, pictured above. God saw fit to spare Joseph's life through his heart surgery and he has more than doubled in size!
) It has been neat to watch his personality and physical strength develop. He is such a perfect fit for their family, but after all that IS how God works!
AND…for the first time he smiled at me and hugged me Thanksgiving Day!
)

Olivia and Taylor are taking violin from the same teacher, so they gave us a mini recital.

I thought it was funny that these dogs sat and listened as though they were playing for them. lol

Jeff set up a light display at the park to advertise his business.
That has been fun! Free advertising, you can't beat that!
Palisades Park will have their Christmas light displays until Jan 1…it is BEAUTIFUL!
Friday we took Olivia to GA. to meet up with the family she will be staying with for the next 3 weeks. They have 4 children, 5 and under. Don't you love those yellow boots? They will be traveling to Colorado Springs and she will be helping out with the children. This is great for her. The family is WONDERFUL and like-minded. It is a win win situation; she is learning how to care for little ones and this family gets an extra set of hands! They treat her well. The only ones that loose are us…mainly me, I loose one of my two best buddies for the next 3 weeks.
( Like I said, it is bitter-sweet.
