Salsa Slideshow

Yesterday, after I sent Olivia off to Florida for 2 weeks with some friends to help with their children, Emma and I got busy canning salsa and tomatoes. It was a lot of work, but we really enjoyed doing it. There is nothing like working elbow to elbow with your children to bind hearts!

Jeff and the girls picked 3 boxes of tomatoes at a local farm this week at $4.00 per box. We canned 24 jars of tomatoes and salsa, and I have a big pot of ‘maters left over to make spaghetti sauce for this weekend. That’s a pretty good deal for $12!!! Plus chilies, onions, garlic and cilantro for the salsa. )

There are dozens of recipes for salsa and you can adjust it to fit your taste.

I’ve posted this before, but this is my favorite canning site.
