Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

Real Food Link Up – Blueberry Time!

We have 2 blueberry bushes and it is harvest time!

Picking will last for a few weeks.

I try to get the kids out there to pick before the heat gets too bad;

this is where you’ll really see their true work ethic.

Some of our pickers are better than others.

She’s going to be a good mom,

she can take care of ‘baby’ and work in the garden at the same time. ;)

Right now we get about a gallon every other day.

I wash them and bag them up for freezing, super easy!

They are great for smoothies, muffins, pancakes

and our favorite cobbler!

Blueberry bushes take time to grow, but in just a few years you’ll have berries, and they are super low maintenance. Bushes and trees are a great way to add your your family’s economy and health!

Here is a very simple cobbler recipe:

How is your garden going?
The Real Food Link Up series will be posted each Wednesday. Please share how you are incorporating healthy REAL food to your diet, even if it is just baby steps, OR how your garden plans are coming along.

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
