Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

Real Food- Germinate Seeds Inside

Last week we talked about planning the pantry and why heirloom seeds are so important.

This week our focus is about getting those seeds started inside.  You may want to start a gardening journal to help you keep track of when you started different seeds and how well they did, this way you can improve your garden each year.

You need to know your growing zone and when you should start germinating your seeds inside. You don’t want to do this too early.

Here is a good post about factors affecting germination.

Just for fun:

The Real Food Link Up series will be posted each Wednesday. Please share how you are incorporating healthy REAL food to your diet, even if it is just baby steps, OR how your garden plans are coming along. :)

Teaching Good Things

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
