Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

Prove Your Maturity

Tattoos nor piercings will cause you to go to hell.

That being said, it is so frustrating to go out in public and encounter people, young and old, who are all marked up and pierced everywhere, who appear to walk around in their own little world, never making eye contact or giving a civil “hello”.

Our culture is so rude, so individualistic… so many looking to express themselves. The key word here is SELF!

Maturity is not about what one *can* do but rather what one *should* do.

How should we be spending our time, our money, our bodies?  How can you encourage your children to make wise choices even while they are still young?

We should be proving who we are by how we live out our lives. It’s about self control, work and serving others.

After spending a day at the local water park yesterday I am appalled at the nudity, tattoos, piercings and RUDENESS!

“Even a child is known by his doings,

whether his work be pure,

and whether it be right.”

Proverbs 20:11

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17

I so agree, Kathy. We have actually avoided water parks in recent years for the same reasons you mentioned.

I love to visit your blog and catch up on your family, God bless you for taking in your little ones.

    I love this line:

Maturity is not about what one *can* do but rather what one *should* do.

Too many of us view maturity as a license to be selfish.
