I am going to add a scrapbook/slideshow to our gardening series each week. If you would like to have your garden included, just send me a link to the picture. I will also link to your blog. I REALLY want pictures of children and families gardening, even if you are doing container gardening. In October we will judge the photos and give out a prize! So send in those photo links!
If anyone would like to donate a freebie to the From Seeds to Harvest Photo Contest just e-mail.

Our garden is coming along but something is eating our pepper plants (and it’s not we).
How exciting! Thank you so much!
Congrats Stephaine! Thanks for this contest. It was so much fun!
Congratulations Stephanie! Your garden looks great. Ours is finally in the ground and survived last night’s 32 degree temp. We had to cover it with a huge tarp.
Congratulations Stephanie! Keep up the great work and enjoy those special moments with your children in the garden!
Thank you for the contest, Kathy!

Hopefully my garden will start growing soon! We’re in Michigan and its just now starting to feel like summer. We planted tomato plants, cucumber plants and pepper plants but the rest was done from seeds. Watermelon, beans, scallions and even some flowers. This is our first attempt. We’ll see how it goes and learn from it.
I was very discouraged today when I went to harvest some of our strawberries & found little black bugs had already been snacking on some of the best.
This year we decided to use straw to mulch the veggie garden. There have been very few weeds! Yeah!!! Usually I get over run by them & frustrated, but so far so good!
Also, found some potatoes in the back of the pantry that were starting to sprout, so the kids helped to cut them up as directed in Farmer Boy, with 2-3 eyes per piece, and to plant them in our garden. They are growing really well now and the kids are so excited! Did anyone else see the movie Faith Like Potatoes? One of the lines in it was about the fact that you can’t see what is going on under ground and never know what your harvest will bring, just like you can’t see all that God is doing through the hard times in life until He brings forth the harvest. “Don’t get weary while doing good, for you will reap a harvest of blessing if you don’t give up!” Galatians 6:9
Hey Alyssa! Do you know what the black bugs are?
Yes, I have seen Faith Like Potatoes. VERY GOOD!

My garden is growing like crazy…I have learned a few things (like butternut squash is a vine, watermelon seeds will grow elsewhere when not growing where planted, etc.) I am not having too many bug problems, thanks to the toads living in my garden. I am looking forward to harvesting soon
I posted a link, but there are more than just garden pics. There are pictures of my crazy kids too. Just look for the garden thumbnails.
Our garden is coming along finally. We have our cucumbers and a few cherry tomatoes. The best plants are the pumpkins that are growing up from the compost bin.
We finally got something out of garden besides weeds
Radishes and lettuce! Yumm!! We also have some cucumbers that will ready soon and a few tomatoes have an orangeish cast to them. The weeds this year are terrible! Especially crab grass!
