Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

Make It, Give It or Sell It…Bath Products

We are strong believers in the entrepreneur spirit! We are always looking for ways to make a profit from home, which is not always in the form of money.

We want our children to know about all aspects of business. Hopefully our children will have built their own business from their interest (bent) by the time they get married. Establishing a business (hopefully home based) and knowing how to live debt free will give our kids such a jump start on their adult life. Hopefully living in this fashion will allow them the freedom of flexibility in life and not be bound to a time clock. With that flexibility comes tons of responsibility and stewardship. None of it is easy.

One day someone asked Olivia how much her Dad pays her when she works for him. She said, "The pay is not good, but you can't beat the benefits!" Which is so true. Our time spent together is worth all the sacrifice. If you are going to work hard you may as well profit your family!

Earlier this year Olivia started her own bath product business. She has not made a lot of money, but she has made some profit, but most of all she has learned SO MUCH about creating a product, ordering supplies, storage, quality control, marketing, budgeting, etc… Not to mention it is nice to have items on hand for gifts! ;o)

She got started with this e-book . Then she designed her own 'theme' (which she has changed a couple times) and sales pitch.

She has done festivals and has a website, Southern Belle Bath Products. Talk about real life education! Some festivals she and Emma will dress in their Southern Belle dresses, it draws attention. :o ) She does 'employ' Emma which is another aspect of business…dealing with employees! lol… Seriously, Emma is just like her dad…a salesman at heart!

You may want to consider buying this e-book and get your daughters involved in a "cottage industry". I promise, they (and you) will learn a lot!

Some of what the book includes:
  • Finding an image
  • How to package and where to find packaging supplies
  • Recipes for homemade skin products
  • Where to find ingredients
  • How much money it will cost to begin
  • Where to find how-to instructions for making your products
  • Where and how to sell your products

  • Avoiding typical problems
  •

If you are interested in learning this skill to generate some income, to save money on bath products, or to give as gifts to family and friends then just click here to view more details.

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
