Make It, Give It, or Sell It – Receiving Blankets

December 10, 2008

We are blessed to have LOTS of babies in our circle of friends. I am always looking for ideas for gifts to make and give that are nice, yet not extremely time consuming.

These receiving blankets are easy to do, and can be really cute!

You could make several in a day or two to have on hand for gifts.

Always look in the clearance section for suitable fabrics.

Breast feeding moms appreciate light weight fabric, 100% cotton for nursing.

See my tutorial HERE.

You can list these on bartering groups or auction sites.

You could check with local shops to see if you could sell them for commission.

I had totally forgotten about these!

Some of my handmade items are now in a consignment shop about 10 miles away. These would be great to put in there with my other baby items.

I am loving this series! I started on my rag quilt last night (I am totally new at sewing period; let alone quilting… so we will see!). Your tutorials are so inspiring. I love those receiving blankets… that will be my next project.
