Is it REALLY Thanksgiving week?
November 24, 2008
We have been SO busy, I was thinking I had all this time to get my act together for Thanksgiving Day and lo and behold…it's almost here! How did that happen?
Most of our family lives 1100 miles away so holidays are usually pretty quiet here. My mother comes for a few days and we try to invite someone that doesn't have any place to go.
I've been packing a lot of DVD orders…which is good! ;o)
Olivia and Emma took on the task of re-decorating my office/sewing room/guest room.
) I can't wait until the curtains are done and we can post some pictures. They patched some holes in the walls, with Dad's help, and painted. It is so pretty! This has been a great learning experience for them. Olivia bought all the paint herself (how sweet was that?!), which turned into a bigger deal than she thought, because the walls WERE dark…they are now light, well medium. So that was a good lesson in priming; priming always takes more than you think it will. Now she will be learning how to get the paint off the wood floors!
) I guess the biggest lesson for her TIME MANAGEMENT! She thought she'd have it done in a day or two. Oh how funny…she is me made over!
So, anyone want to share their Thanksgiving plans and how they are going to make it special?

Hello. I was reading someone elses blog and saw you on their blogroll. Would you be interested in exchanging blog roll links? If so, feel free to email me.
Thanks.
We are going to my brother’s home for our family’s celebration. That will be special. However, the most special part will be that we’re going to my sister’s family’s home on Thursday night and staying until sometime Saturday. They will be visiting her husband’s family a few states away so it will be like a mini vacation for us! We can’t wait! The best part is–no hotel bills! They live in a “major metropolitan area” so I plan on shopping (just to get out) on “Black Friday”. For some reason, it kinda puts me in the Christmas mood. Odd, I know.
Blessings–
Dana
Tell Olivia we are with her in spirit! My daughter and I painted the hallway, bathroom and one UGLY wall in our family room in anticipation of family coming and it has taken three times as long as we thought. And, we too are learning how to get paint off various surfaces. Sigh. At least it looks better now! Too bad we are seriously behind in our cleaning schedule now. We hope to finish most of it by tonight!
Happy Thanksgiving
)
Blessings,
Courtney
