Looks like the deep south is about to be snowed/iced in. The store shelves are wiped out and most of us are remembering the historic storm of 1993, when we had 18″ of snow and lost power and water for 5 days! 18″ may not sound like much for some of you, but here in Alabama the mere mention of the “S” word sends waves of panic of being without milk and bread.
We’ve made our preparations. I have some food cooked, all the laundry is done, bathroom and kitchen cleaned and water drawn. The cards, dominoes and Yahtzee are on standby.
If we have the ice the weatherman is forecasting there will be falling pine trees , which means power outages. A part of me looks forward to being cooped up for a day or so and enjoying a pajama day. Hopefully it won’t last too long, we’re pretty spoiled to electricity and running water!
One thing about homeschooling is you don’t usually get a ‘snow day’.

I know how you feel.I live in the Dallas, Texas area.We have several inches of snow that will change to ice over night.I hope we are prepared. We bought food and prepared pipes yesterday. I am very thankful for our wood-stove and propane water heater and stove. Sp hopefully we can eat and have warm baths. I will keep you in my prayers! Linda

I went to the store yesterday afternoon (Sunday), and they were out of eggs! Thing is, we are used to snow and it’s not even predicted until Monday night!
I did spend the afternoon preparing a few things ahead though. I made a couple dozed pieces of french toast and a few dozen biscuits that are in the freezer. (I have a great recipe for freezer biscuits! I keep them on hand then pop them into the oven whenever we want biscuits.) I also made 2 loaves of banana bread and almost 3 dozen banana muffins. Then I made dinner.
I’ll remember the entire South in prayer. Brandie and Haleigh are great about praying for needs, so I’ll have them do the same. They love to pray for others.
Keep warm!
Blessings–
Dana
