How to Build a PVC Hoophouse
March 22, 2010
In our part of the world it is spring! We are itching to get our plants in the ground but we know there is still a chance of a freeze over the next few weeks. We do have seeds started in the house.

Here is a neat alternative for a greenhouse.
An unheated PVC hoophouse can be a useful addition to your garden. It keeps excessive rain off the plants, blocks the wind, raises daytime temperatures 5-10 degrees (and often much more), and keeps frosts and heavy dew off the leaves. This can extend your warm-season gardening a month or more at both ends, and makes it possible for year-round gardeners to grow a wider variety of plants through the winter. This site has all the information you need to build your own!

Oh thank you- thank you- thank you! Now that we finally have some land, we can try this!!! I can’t wait to show my hubby
I wonder if Dad could build one to cover our entire garden? I’m having “planters remorse” over planting those seeds last weekend.
Joyfully,
Olivia
