How to Bake a Big Cookie
February 26, 2010
I made these for Valentines Day for a couple special people
(no one in this house since we are trying to cut out sugar).
Use an 8″ heart cake pan, round will work good if it’s not Valentine’s Day. ;o)
Make a batch of your favorite cookie dough, this one is chocolate chip.
Press in into the pan about a 1/2 inch deep.
You don’t want it too think because it will not bake evenly.
The larger your cookie the slower you will have to bake your cookie
(reduce heat by 25-50 degrees and bake longer).
Bake at 350 until done. I never let my cookies get real done.
I always take them out just as they are starting to brown,
this way they are still soft and not crunchy when they cool.
Let it sit in the pan about 5-10 minutes to cool a little.
If you let it cool completly you may have a hard time getting it out.
If you flip it while it is still real hot it may crack or break.
Use a knife to loosen the sides a bit,
then gently flip it on freezer paper or wax paper.
Fold the paper over and gently flip the cookie right side up.
Let it cool completely.
Place on a cake board or a pretty dish.
Wrap it up and give it to someone special.
If you have cake decorating skills you can decorate it a little with some butter cream icing.
I made this one using a 6″ pan and the no-bake cookie recipe.
I did very lightly butter the pan before adding the batter in this one
because cookie needs to cool completely before taking out of the pan.
These are a great alternative to cakes.

Someone gave us one of these and they are so yummy. I like the idea of using no bake. Never heard of that before.
