Home Schooling – Self Employed and SNOW DAYS!
March 2, 2010
We awoke this morning to MORE SNOW! As I peeked out through the blind I couldn’t believe it was snowing again!!!
Alabama winters are usually pretty mild. The majority of Jeff’s work is outside work, so when it is bad weather he is at home, which usually is not a problem because he always has some sort of project going on; but when it snows there is not much he can do. Because he is a volunteer fireman more than likely he will go on a call or two today as people dare to drive the un-sanded/unsalted roads, or when these tall pines fall blocking roads. Jeff is a VERY active person (hyperactive) so when he is stuck in the house he is like a caged animal (I mean that in a nice way).
This morning he had to wake Emma up with a SNOWBALL IN HER ROOM! Did I mention he is an early bird too ( in a house of night owls)? Then he went out to prepare for the next battle. Note the two buckets of snowballs waiting for Emma! I guess you could say the early bird gets the snowballs. So now Emma and her dad are outside, showing their love to each other as they bombard the other with snowballs and building memories.
It’s days like today that I am so thankful Jeff works from home, that our schedules are flexible so that we can seize the moment. I’m thankful that after they are done playing outside, that we can all enjoy a hot cup of coffee and then still get some school lessons in and maybe a few in-the-house honey-dos.
