This is so encouraging to know there are people out there teaching the young girls how to knit or crochet. Or sew. I love that so many of the younger ladies in our lives come to me now when they come out here for a visit and ask me to teach them to do some kind of handiwork ~~their mothers that are usually my age and older do not know how. We/They (I can't participate as much as I'd like) make hats for local schoolkids who get Christmas presents from the local Angel tree or police department. Last year I think there were over 100 hats donated. I crochet and didn't even need a pattern once I learned the secret to crocheting ribbing. I still have problems making the pom-pons for the tops.
