I *LOVE* this gardening idea my friend Lori sent me!
What a great project for boys, or for people who cannot get out and work the ground,
and it looks so nice!!!

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be
"...teachers of good things...".
We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors.
One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us;
establish the work of our hands for us-
yes, establish the work of our hands.
Psalm 90:17

My 7-year-old son asked if we could have a garden this year. Since we’re away a lot during the summer, I tried to explain that we’re never home when the vegetables “come on,” and that weeds overtake the garden every week that we’re gone. He isn’t daunted by any of that (he’s obviously never weeded before), so I may just have to give this a try on a small scale. Thanks for the idea!

how about planting things that dont take a lot of effort or ones that last several months or are ready earlier? Sertain flowers, herbs like chives & thyme do well for us. If you do ‘square foot gardening’ it will be a lot easier to weed because it doesnt get packed down and the plants are closer together. You can just google it for the basics.
