Giving Generously – Food For the Health Conscience People

December 7, 2011

When giving food gifts you want to be sure to give gifts that are unique and fitting for that person. For those that really struggle with health issues, whether they are diabetics, have allergies or struggle with weight it is a great treat to receive a tasty food gift that they can actually enjoy!

Think of healthy snacks or meals and then get creative on how you package them for a gift!

A Healthy Breakfast Basket would be good for a family.

This is actually a basket I made a few years ago for a family that was sick.

Line a basket, package some whole wheat waffels or pancakes, add some fruit, syrup, jam, a package of coffee/hot cocoa and some cloth napkins and you have a really nice gift basket! You can put the waffels in a ziplock and they can be refrigerated until they are ready to eat them.

Very good post. so excited by the Larabar hack! we love key lime and cherry larabars.

I have given my kids’ teachers homemade vegetable soup in quart jars for Christmas/New Year’s…well received by all after weeks of sweets.
