Gardening Unit Study
April 20, 2009
I just found out about this unit study this morning. It is an instant downloaded. I thought it would be perfect for our Seeds to Harvest challenge!
A Gardening Unit Study -
Creative Homeschooled Kids Magazine,
Feb-Mar 2009 Issue
Looking for a unit study that:
*is practical, useful, fun, and includes Scripture and spiritual instruction, too?
*has 38 pages of features for all school ages from first to twelfth grade?
- *touches on all school subjects, but with a focus on nature, art, and Christian living?
- *shares the insights of a 19-year veteran homeschooling mom who wrote for The Teaching Home for ten years?
Then this unit study e-book is for you!
Each unit study book contains:
~5 or more coloring pages, some with art instruction that will build your child’s art skills
~informational articles about animals and nature
~useful life skills your kids can use and grow by
~relevant Scripture verses on topic
~at least one painting masterpiece with an informative discussion of the painting and artist (all of the paintings used are decent&emdash;we have no part indecent art)
~photo stories of our home school and what we did
~activity pages, including
*word searches
*cross word puzzles
*mazes
*dot-to-dots
*"what’s changed in this picture"
*and more!
Each of our unit studies starts out as an issue of our magazine, Creative Homeschooled Kids. Each one has a focus topic (or two), and includes enough material for a unit study. (You are always free to add in books, videos, and other materials from the library or any other activity you choose!) One of the advantages of using this book is that you can print out any page the day it is used, and when your child is through with that page, it can be put into a notebook that becomes a record of what that child has learned and done. Your children can then decorate the pages and add pages from other sources you or they choose as the unit study progresses.
So download this book and get started on your unit study today!

Every year I plan to start a garden but never get it going. I don’t have a tiller and am not sure where to start, so your encouragement to start with a few pots is something I think I could actually do this year. Thanks for the encouragement and motivation to garden.
