Our pumpkins are starting to look more like pumpkins and less like green gourds. Tomorrow we'll drain the aquarium for cleaning. That water always goes on the plants. We started the day picking strawberries together at a local berry farm and ended the day with several gallon-size freezer bags of berries for smoothies and baking, two dozen half-pints of cooked jam, and about a dozen pints of freezer jam. Not only are we stocked for the year with delicious homemade strawberry jam, but we also have many half-pints to give as hostess gifts throughout the coming year! Lord willing, we'll be canning both regular and pickled green beans next week.
