From Our Inbox- Rag Quilt

December 17, 2008

When I receive e-mails like this one it blesses me beyond words!  Thank you Kim for sharing!

Ladies, take note of what Kim has done, even without all the fancy tools and new fabrics.
GREAT JOB!!!

Hi Kathy,

Here are pictures of the front and back of my quilt.  I am so excited! Even though it's not perfect, I am so proud of it. I have never sewn much of anything until this year.   I have wanted to learn to sew forever, but never had enough confidence.  Thanks for making it look so easy!

I don't have a rotary cutter and mat yet, so I just pinned jean fabric from old pants to a lined 8 " piece of notebook paper.

The rag side was made out of sheets we didn't use.   I used an old blanket for batting. So… I really didn't spend anything on it except the thread!

I have your ebook (How to make a 9 patch), so I am looking forward to trying that one of these days once I get used to making these.
I appreciate your blog; it has been very helpful to me.

Thanks again! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

Kim M.
