Fitness Team Report, Week 3 – How to Make a Green Smoothie video

December 22, 2011

I love a good smoothie! Fresh spinach is one green that can be easily added to almost any fruit smoothie and it not effect the flavor, but it does pack a punch of nutrition! You can also add nuts or flax seed to a fruit smoothie. The main benefit of a smoothie is that because the food is blended it is easier to digest.

Smoothies made with almond milk or cocoanut milk are a great way to enjoy an ice-creaming treat without the dairy.

Here is a quick video clip how I make a non-dairy smoothie:

These are my goals, in red are the ones I actually met:

I’m thinking I set me goals way too high for the month of December. :o / But then again, better too high than too low.

Exercise:

Gym 4 days a week (40-45 minutes cardio, 15 minutes weight resistance) Did 3 days
Outside walk 2 days a week, non-gym days (45-60 minute walk)
Pool 1 time a week (at least 10 laps)
Pilates 2 times a week

But it feels like I did so much more!

Nutrition (nutrition is 70% of the battle):

Avoid sugar, white flour and white rice five days a week …
Eat mainly fruits and vegetables, cooked, raw and juiced 4 days a week.
100 ounces of water a day, every day! About half of this. :/
5000 iu Vitamin D each day 3 days

Other:

Pray for strength, wisdom and focus
Watch or read something related to good nutrition at least twice a week – motivation I did watch a documentary.
Sit in the sun for 10-15 minutes a day when possible. No sun, :(
Go to bed by 10:00 every night
