Fitness Team Report – Week 1, so far so good
December 9, 2011
As I told you Monday I am part of a fitness team, don’t laugh! December is probably the hardest month to take on a fitness challenge, but it is proving to be the best month to do so. With holiday get-togethers and extra sweet treats being made it’s easy to consume lots of extra calories and find excuses not to exercise.
As I said Monday, I’ve lost about 50 pounds (and kept them off) over the last 2 years and I still have about 50 to go. This picture was taken 2 years ago (I think).
I have done pretty good about sticking to my goals this week. I did give in to a moment of weakness when I spent the afternoon out with my husband and he bought me a BIG, SOFT, WARM, cinnamon-y pretzel! We also went out to eat with our closest friends one night and I ate a BIG dish of pasta, but I also stuck to drinking just carrot juice during the day and some nuts!
These are my goals:
Exercise:
- Gym 4 days a week (40-45 minutes cardio, 15 minutes weight resistance)
- Outside walk 2 days a week, non-gym days (45-60 minute walk)
- Pool 1 time a week (at least 10 laps)
- Pilates 2 times a week
Nutrition (nutrition is 70% of the battle):
- Avoid sugar, white flour and white rice five days a week …
- East totally raw foods and juice 4 days a week. This will include nuts and beans in my salads. I’ve decided to eat cooked vegetable too because it is SO COLD out…I need some warm comforting foods too!
- 100 ounces of water a day, every day!
- 5000 iu Vitamin D each day
Other:
- Pray for strength, wisdom and focus
- Watch or read something related to good nutrition at least twice a week – motivation
- Sit in the sun for 10-15 minutes a day when possible.
- Go to bed by 10:00 every night
I’ve lost a whopping ONE POUND since Monday, which is better than gaining a pound. I will say my energy level is WAY UP!
Hop on over to get in on the giveaways and watch how the Fitness Team does over the next 4 weeks. Oh, and if you leave me a comment on this post I’ll put your name in for some homemade health bars that I will giveaway next Friday!

I am so proud of you! You are doing a great job. Personally, I think any weight loss (or even keeping weight steady) during the month of December is fantastic.
Fabulous job! I love your plans for nutrition and fitness. I need a little more variety in mine!
Blessings

I love the plan you have going; it sounds very practical and not too drastic. Again, great job.

Great week! I need to spend more time out in the sun too. I only went out for 5 minutes today.
Yeah! A pound might not seem like much, but it’s a concrete reward for your hard work. You are doing good, hoping for your continued success. ;0)
My dear Kathy, that is great work! Keep it up. Wish I could get a grip again. Prayed for you this week and will continue to do so.
Thanks ladies!
Great Job Kathy! I’m going to join you, too. My goal is to have my plan written out before 9pm tonight. Thanks for the inspiration!
