Fiber Arts Monday- Crochet Trimmed Socks

April 18, 2011

Little girl’s socks trimmed in crochet are so precious. They are a cinch to make. You can use any stitch you’d like. Below are a couple of recommendations. You can use threads or fun fur type yarns. They are done with a steel hook, any small one will do, approximately size 7. Using a small hook makes it easy to insert it in the sock.

Instructions

Rnd 1: Sc, ch 5, sc around the sock leaving a small space between each sc. Join to first sc.
Rnd 2: Sl st in first 3 ch, sc in ch 5 loop; ch 5 sc in each ch 5 loop around.
Finish off with a sl st in first sc.
Make as many rounds as you like.

Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc around, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Rnd 2: In top of ch 3 work: ch 3, dc, ch 3 2 dc (shell made). *Skip next 2 dc, make shell (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.

With Fun Fur, sc, ch 5 sc around. TOO EASY!

Hi there! It’s been a busy day around here but I finally found a minute to stop by so I can share that I finally finished my daughter’s felted slippers! You can take a peek here: http://happyindolevalley.blogspot.com/2011/04/on-my-needles.html

This week I’m busy with a knitting project, a crochet project, and a sewing project — all for Easter. Do you think I’ll actually finish each of them? We’ll find out next Monday…

    Blessings! ~Lisa

I’m a little late in joining, but I somehow missed this all day yesterday. I’m almost finished with the quilt series I started last week, and you can see the almost-finished vintage sheets quilt at this post:

All I need to add is the binding!

Ladies, I love both of your projects!

Lisa, in our church where there are always babies being born, felted booties would be a great baby gift!

Sophia, you amaze me with the variety of vintage sheets quilts!

    Keep up the good work!!!!!
