Hi there. I would love to enter your contest please.

I would love to win the cake decorating DVD because I have a sister who does such a fabulour job on making cakes that everyone encourages her to start her own business. She does GREAT WORK!!!!

I can’t decorate a cake to save my life (LOL) and it would be great if for once I can make a cake for a family get together and have it decorated and all nice looking just like my sister does. I’ll never be as great as her as far as decorating but it sure would be nice to learn how to do more with a cake then just slap some frosting on it.

Thank you for a great giveaway! Have a supwer day!

  2. Rachel says:

I’m not going to ask for me, but for my multi-talented daughter, Kendra. http://picasaweb.google.com/GiraffeCrafts
Back in March, her dad, my husband, lost his job. Time’s were hard before that – we’ve barely been keeping our heads above water since 2000. So we are looking at no more christmas that what we can make or give from what we already own. She has so much “crafting” skills talent – I know she would be great at anything new that she learns. Her Grammy lives right next door and she knows how to do very elaborate cakes (less so since loosing sight in one eye), but she has no one to teach her how to Crochet. She’s a great daughter and biggest sister around here. She and her younger sister kept the house going this May and June after I had a miscarriage – that is a long scary story too. She is trying to start her own business making hats and scarves for anyone from a doll to adult. Anyway, Thanks for the opportunity, even if she doesn’t get it.

  3. Leslie from VA says:

    Hi Kathy,

I think you should give me the Crochet DVD, b/c I would use it as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. It would be wonderful to have it for a special mother /daughter activity later in the winter months!

Thank you for the opportunity to win!

  4. Ruth says:

Hi Kathy! I’m a ‘tot-schooling’ mom of one who lives in Jamaica. I could think of a lot of reasons really… but the main reason for wanting to receive one of your DVDs as a gift is that I wouldn’t be able to acquire it otherwise. I would love to learn skills which would allow me to become more ‘self-sufficient’ for reason which cannot be mentioned here… I already enjoy baking, so learning the art of Cake Decorating would be a natural progression.

I’m open to the idea of learning to crochet, however, so I’m not really particular. The important thing is to be equipped with a useful skill.

This got lengthy in a hurry….. sorry!

  5. Elizabeth F. says:

I love to be frugal and make my kids birthday cakes, but I need HELP! I’m not very good at it. Homemade cakes taste so much better and store-bought cakes are so expensive!

  6. Kimberly says:

I would love to have the cake decorating one! I think that it is something that my daughter and I could learn together and we could both enjoy.

  7. Sandy says:

It would be great to have your Crocheting DVD because I have several young ladies in my home who would love to perfect their skills. Your Cake Decorating DVD was a big hit, so I’m sure this one is wonderful, too!

  8. Chelsey says:

I would love to win the cake decorating dvd because I have so many years of birthday cakes ahead of me! My daughter (4) and I always make a big deal out of my husband’s birthday by making him an elaborate cake (of a theme of her choosing! lol…) My son 2 1/2 is bound to join us soon! We’d love some help in the decorating department!!!

  9. Angela Cribb says:

    Hi Kathy,

I would love to have the Crocheting DVD. I run a Keepers at Home group and this is one skill that none of our mothers have. We need to be able to learn so that we can teach our daughters. So really, this would be for a group project. Thank you for your generosity, no matter who wins.

  10. Stephenie says:

Please enter me in your contest! I would like to win the Cake Decorating DVD. As our family grows, I find myself making more and more cakes and looking ahead, I see how knowing the skills of cake decorating would help us save money on future weddings. Also, my daughter loves to be in the kitchen and baking is one of her joys. She loves to delight her family with sweets she has made. This would be an awesome way to encourage her interest.

  11. Ilissa H. says:

I’d really love to win the learn how to crochet DVD because I’ve been wanting to learn but have been having trouble learning from a book. I think a DVD would really help. Thanks for the chance!

  12. Chrysa says:

I would love the Learn to Crochet DVD. Right now I can only crochet ONE thing – an afghan that has the same stitch over and over. I guess I could use the same stitch to make a scarf also, but that’s pretty boring!

  13. Tiffany says:

I would love to win the crochet DVD. I’ve been dying to learn for years..but I live so far away from my Grama, that she can’t teach me. So I have no teacher, no crafting store that offers lessons, nada. This would be a fantastic way to finally learn!! Thanks for the chance to win!

  14. Melissa B. says:

I would love to win the Cake Decorating DVD because I have two daughters who love being in the kitchen and creating new things. This would be a wonderful thing for us to learn together.

  15. MaryAnne says:

I would really love the crochet DVD….I am 44 yo and have crocheted since I can remember….but, i know one stitch…no matter how much i try, i just cant ‘get it’….my hubby is an OTR driver who I get the honor to ride with him 24/7 and I would love to make things along the way to give as gifts to him, myself and others…donate, create…- ust have a good time with it. I haven’t the option of sitting down with someone to learn, so that’s why a DVD would be totally awesome and shopping with a big rig is not as easy as you think-you can’t just pull into any parking lot or town with a truck! LOL!..anyway…thank you for considering all of us…

  16. Sue D says:

I would like to win the Crochet DVD. A long time ago a Great Aunt taught me to crochet and I actually made an afghan that we still use to this day. However even though I have books on crochet I never do it because the patterns seem so confusing to me. I do knit but can’t seem to catch on to crochet without someone with me. I think a DVD might be just the thing. My children are all grown (all boys) but I have a 2 1/2 year old granddaughter that I would love to teach all these skills to. Thanks for the chance to win. Love your blog–wish it was around when my children were growing up but now I am reading it for my grandchildren.

  17. Tracy D says:

My great grandmother used to crochet the most gorgeous things. I have always wanted to learn but never have! I would love to get the DVD and be able to carry on the tradition!

  18. Karla says:

I would like to enter to win the Crochet dvd. I have tried to learn it from a book, but it wasn’t very clear. I am a daughter at home learning to be a keeper at home and would like to really learn how to crochet. I think it is important for every young lady to know how. It can help to be frugal and also, you can give gifts to people since it is a cheaper way to give. Alot of times I am not able to give gifts simply because it costs too much. I also, want to learn so I can begin making baby things to store away for when I get married someday. Another thing is to make things for those who are needy.

    Thanks for this opportunity!

  19. Carla Pullum says:

Basic cake decorating is really what I am interested in!

  20. Elsie says:

I hope to learn how to crochet….I missed the opportunity with my Mom and Grandma, both are gone, but in their honor I wish that I win a DVD to help me with this.

Thank you with my heart for this opportunity, another chance for me maybe. A DVD seems like a nice way to learn.

  21. Amanda T says:

Well now, you just have to pick me cause I’ve got to buy both these DVDs for my daughters for Christmas anyway. Seriously.

  22. Kat says:

    Hi,
I think you should give me the Cake Decorating DVD because it is my birthday this week! :)
    Blessings,
    Kat

  23. Terri Ramey says:

Hi, Kathy! I think you should give me either video because I am clueless in both areas and would REALLY love to learn both skills. Also, my 15-year-old daughter would love to learn these skills, too. My dream is to be a SAHM and we could earn some extra income by applying our skills toward that endeavor. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  24. Hello Mrs. Kathy,
I could give you some of the reasons that I read above, and one of them would be true. My B-day is this week as well. I however do not want the video for me. I want to give it to my niece that I am raising. She is 12 years old. She loves to make sugar cookies on Friday evenings and decorate them. I have only basic skills so I have taught her what I do know. However star flowers and stems, scallop borders are about it. She really would like to know more. If you choose my entry it will go into her Stocking for Christmas along with her own set of tips and bags. Thank you for considering this. Blessings Lisa Robinson

  25. Melissa says:

I would love to have your cake decorating DVD. My mom is a keeper at home but did not teach my sister and I how to do any homemaking things. I now have five children and am still learning how to keep a home. We try to live very frugally but I want to be able to show my children how special they are with wonderful birthday cakes. I also want to be able to pass these skill on to my two (so far) daughters. Thank you!
    Melissa

  26. Julie in Fl says:

I think I should win the Cake Decorating DVD because I love commenting on your blog even when there is not a contest! :)

Also, I have three daughters and this would be so fun to do with them. With five kids I’m sure we would put this DVD to good use.

AND last but not least, I am buying one of these DVDs for Christmas. If I already had one then my choice would be so much easier. LOL

  27. I would love to have your cake decorating DVD for my dear daughter. I have taught her to crochet, cook, and preserve food, etc. Because of this she thinks I can do anything, but I do not know how to decorate cakes and it would be a great thing for us to learn together. In addition, we would be able to help our church and other friends who often times need a nicely decorated cake, but can’t afford to buy them. If she and I knew how to decorate them we could give them to those who needed or wanted them.

    Thanks so much,

    Lisa

  28. amy in ne says:

I would love the cake decorating DVD for my 4 daughters. I decorated cakes in the past and they were flops! I would love to have my daughters aquire this skill—and my boys would love to eat the homework! LOL!!
    Thanks for entering me.
    blessings,
    amy in ne

  29. Joy says:

We would love to win the cake decorating DVD for our family. All three of my kids (ages 6, 10, 12) are active in the kitchen. They all love to cook and bake! The kids are all in 4H and the oldest two entered projects this summer in cake decorating. We learned what little we knew by trial and error. We live in a rural area and there are no cake decorating class to my knowledge. We would love to watch your video and then go try out the lessons learned in our kitchen! We make almost every “celebration” cake that we eat– that way everyone can taste the love baked inside! We would love to make our cakes look as delicious as they taste!

    Thank you,
    Joy, Brenna, Nathan, & Brandon

  30. Rebecca R. says:

I would choose the Basic Cake Decorating DVD, as 5 of our 7 children are daughters, so there will be lots of opportunities for them to help make cakes over the years–for family and church events, etc. I could benefit by learning from the DVD also, I am sure! :-) Thanks for a great giveaway!

  31. Marcie says:

    Hi Kathy,

Please enter me into your contest. My daughter would really love to learn to decorate cakes. Thank you!

    Marcie

  32. Pam says:

    Hi Kathy,
The Lord blessed us with a wonderful daughter late in life and she is like an only child since her brothers are all grown up. We enjoy spending time with her friends and their moms, and often tackle new skills together. She is really wanting to learn to crochet. I tried to show her, but I lack the skills and I know we could have some fun learning together with some of her friends and their moms if we had this to show us how! Thanks and I love your site!
    Pam

  33. Reisha says:

Well, I was going to ask for the Crochet DVD for myself, but after reading Rachel’s request for her multi-talented daughter, Kendra, I think she should receive one. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

  34. chastidy says:

I would choose the cake decorating, because if I could make our cakes for birthdays it would save us lots of money. Thanks :)

  35. Cheryl Moore says:

    Hi,
Wow… several things pop in to my mind for this beautiful crocheting dvd. I am ~right now~ in the process of re-teaching myself how to crochet from the little I personally did while I was in high school, so that I can teach my twin 10 year old girls who want to learn. Oh, do I need the help!!! :)
Appropriately as well my birthday is the 17th and this would be a great birthday gift.
    Many Blessings,
    Cheryl
