Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

All in a Day’s Work

This is MY husband!

Why does he work this hard…6 days a week?

2 reasons:

  • He LOVES his family!
  • He was created by his Redeemer to give his all, to lay down his life for his family.

Because he gives his all, physically and emotionally, when this man comes home he is HOME! I have never had to worry about him wanting more than me…more than us.  He is a good and faithful man.

Today he turns ‘almost 50′, ;) or at that is what I tell him his 49th birthday is.  God has been good to all of us through him!

In the mornings when I do our Bible, music, and character trait time with the kids I always end this time with prayer; we take turns praying aloud and I always pray last. I’ve recently started adding to my prayer with them,

“…Lord, thank you for the work you’ve given all of us. May we ALL be faithful, giving our all, whether it be dad on the job, or us doing our chores and school work and may You be pleased with us.”

Some work is paid for by money, but most of our work in life is paid for by the satisfaction that we’ve done our best as unto the Lord!

I always end our prayer time with, “May we be aware of the needs of people around us, as we serve You Lord by serving others.”

Happy birthday, Jeff Brodock, and thank you for setting the pace for our family!

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17

Thank you for the way you publically honored your husband. This is a powerful example of a wise woman building her home.
