The Brodock Family

We are Jeff and Kathy Brodock, we live in the beautiful state of Alabama! We are Christians and have been married for 25 years; we have 4 children, with 2 still at home. We have been home educating our children for 20 years. Jeff is self-employed doing home maintenance and carpentry. I am his helper and the keeper of our home. All of us together run Teaching Good Things.

We have a passion for equipping families with practical skills for real life. We host Domestic Camps and Carpentry Camps in our area to give folks personal training.

Joshua, 23, lives close by and is an independent cable contractor.

Olivia, 20,  has served as a governess to a home school girl whose mother died from cancer. She is now back home and pursuing an industrious life as she helps in the family businesses and sees to the needs of those around her.   You can read more about her adventures on her blog She Considers.

Emma, 17, is always busy with her lessons, chores, shooting club, 4-H, helping Dad and her Mary Kay business.

When our children were younger we taught a group called Keepers of the Faith. It was like scouting, but the skills were Biblically based with the main goal of serving others. Jeff taught the boys manly skills, and I taught the girls homemaking skills and handiwork. Most moms and dads sat in on the classes and that gave it a real family environment. We had strong convictions that our youth needed to be trained in the Scriptures and practical skills.  We LOVED teaching this group of children for 7 years. We still teach small groups periodically, but we miss the days with the Keepers group!
