A Special Evening at Branchcove

December 7, 2010

We are in full swing here with Christmas parties going on. Last Friday night the adults in our church celebrated the Incarnation with an elegant 7 course meal. Several of us ladies brought our tableware from home; different ones took part in decorating and providing special music.

Even though we are a family integrated church, it’s really nice to set aside one evening a year and enjoy some adult time.

The party was held in our fellowship hall. I have to say, our church and fellowship hall has to be one of the most beautiful churches I’ve seen (not to mention it was built debt free)!

One of our members (Trish) created a slide show of pictures from church gatherings over the last several years; makes you realize how fast the kids grow up!

I hesitate to tell about the food, because I know I will not even begin to find the right words!

One of our members, Mercy, shared with us her skills in gourmet cooking and presentation.

It was outstanding!

Several of our teens helped serve…

and

worked in the kitchen!

A couple of our young ladies were able to work alongside Mercy in food prep.

It was a good learning experience for these young people to see just how much work goes into such an elaborate meal and how to serve with proper etiquette.

Everything was homemade. Mercy is well known for her bread making!
