Teaching Good Things, Practical Skills for Real Life

Equipping Families with Practical Skills for Real Life!

A Quick Hello from the Wet South!

Hello Dear Readers!

This is a quick note because I am using the library’s computer and I am in a rush because our clothes are at the laundry mat!!! Thanks to Tropical Storm Lee we are spending a few days with no power. It’s kind of nice and kind of not!  I have enjoyed sitting in the candle light at night and just talking, no phone, TV or computer to fight for our attention.  Jeff has insisted on beating us at at Rummy several times…hope he feels like a man about it!  Olivia has read to us and played piano. Jeff and Emma have spent a lot of time out with the fire department removing trees. I’ve worked on my crocheting projects and cleaned out a lot of junk. The best thing about homeschooling…we only take the nice days off! lol…

Hopefully our power will be back by midnight, some people won’t have it until Friday (gasp!).

Anywho…I gotta run. I feel like I am a million miles away from everyone… hope everyone is well!

Titus 2:3 says that we are to be "...teachers of good things...". We believe that part of these good things are practical skills that we all need in every day life to care for our family and neighbors. One of our primary responsibilities as parents is equip our children with the skills and tools to one day be productive, well rounded adults. Children need to be exposed to many different areas of work. Not only should they know how to work, but they should want to work. May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
