Hello Brodock Family

I have to say, of all the web sites there are out there, yours is MY FAVORITE. Thank you for ENCOURAGING me in my job as a wife and a mother! As I am learning about becoming more domestic and gaining skills I never had, I always go to your site for the information I need. THANK YOU! :) Keep on pressing into the Lord! :)

I just ordered the plans for the chicken coop. I have been wanting chickens and fresh eggs for some time. My husband was always concerned about having chickens walking around the yard and the mess, but I showed him this hen house. He is looking forward to building this. Thanks for posting the link. I really like the one your husband built with wheels.

I know that you were working with your city to get chickens legal. Last week our paper had a story that said that we're allowed to have 5 chickens per household--in the city! I had no idea.

Hello Mr. Brodock!

I love your design! The wheels will definitely come in handy.

I am raising meat birds. I made my movable coop out of a chain link fence dog pen. I wrapped the sides with chicken wire and across the top, too. The top is also covered with a tarp and protects them from the rain and winds from the south and west.

I have the top of an old dog igloo inside so that they can go in when it is cold. I didn't use the bottom so that they could be directly on the grass. It is amazing how many chickens can fit in there! I flip the igloo over in the mornings and grab hold of the cage and move it for fresh ground. My pen has a door so that I can go in and out easily.

If you were closer, I would love to see you make one of these hen houses. Some day, I might raise hens for eggs. Are you selling the plans? We can barter.....I'll trade you some of my e-books for a copy of your plans! :)
