A Card Making Day
March 19, 2010
This week we got together with a couple friends to make cards over where Olivia is staying.
We used card stock cut in half, rubber stamps, pressed flowers, scrapbook paper, ribbon, raffia, and anything else we could gather up.
It was GREAT girl time!!!
I love sending cards, but because they are so expensive I don’t do it as often as I should. Well that and I simply don’t MAKE the time.
Everyone loves to get a card or letter in the mail. When I was growing I had a couple of aunts that always took time to write me, one of them often made little cards for me…that was way back when making cards wasn’t cool! ;o)
In our day of cell phones, e-mail, blogs and text messages receiving a hand written card or letter in the mail box is a rarity.
A friend and I have recently started writing each other. It’s pretty comical as we try to not talk about what is in our letters as we talk on the phone or see each other in person.
This week I received in the mail box THE SWEETEST card from my daughter. It is one of those treasures that my grandchildren and great children will find tucked away in my belongings after I am gone. I hope that it will speak to them of who I am through another person’s eyes.
Here are our cards we finished in just a couple hours. We really need a whole day to knock out enough for a year.
See how I made some Heritage Greeting Cards over HERE!
