24 and Counting!

August 30, 2010

Today Jeff and I have been married for 24 years.

Sometimes I look at him and wonder how in the world I ended up with such a noble man!

Can I even begin to explain the security there is with a man

that I do not have to worry about his eyes wandering?

A man that works 12-14 hours a day to take such good care of us?

A man that is so protective of me, not because he does not trust me,

but because he cherishes me?

It has taken many, MANY years for me to really learn what my (our) vows meant.

God has been good…VERY GOOD!

The first time I heard the song Love Like Crazy, it brought a tear to my eye.

All through the song I kept smacking the steering wheel (I was driving) saying,

“YES! YES! THAT IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT!”

Emma sat in the passenger seat laughing at me, but I know she agreed!

This song is my husband’s heart song!

THIS is how he lives EVERYDAY!!!

The older I get the more I love to look at elderly couples.

When I see couples shuffling along in Wal Mart it just melts my heart!!!

Oh, I hope that Jeff and I get another 30 (or more) years together!

LEE BRICE – Love Like Crazy lyrics

They called him crazy when they started out
Said seventeen’s too young to know what loves about
They’ve been together fifty-eight years now
That’s crazy

He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
He bought a little 2 bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
Yeah that’s crazy

Just ask him how he did it; he’ll say pull up a seat
It’ll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin’ knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy they’ll never take off
He sold his one man shop to Microsoft
They paid like crazy

Just ask him how he made it
He’ll tell you faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman,
Who never let him forget

Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy

Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get too old to call her baby
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when they started out
They’ve been together fifty-eight years now

Ain’t that crazy?

We have been married for 24 years, too! March 22, 2011 will mark 25 years. Do you know what day we celebrated a few years ago? Bride Pride Day. On that day, I was married to Jeff longer than when I was single! What a blessing!

    Enjoy this very special day!
